I think this is a common strategy for alot of major programs. I don't really have any data but I'm pretty sure everyone does this. Many of the offers are not "comittable" and I'm not sure how that's managed.

Whomever gets talked about the most will probably amount to nothing. Like Andy Jean and others before him they get talked up and don't ever really play.. It seems like WRs get talked about a lot so I'm going to go with Sturdivant, even though I like him.

This is the first thing I thought of when Sunseri hire was announced. Secondary was great last year yet we seemingly overlook a proven good coach, already on staff, and give a co-DC title to someone with no history at UF and very little experience. If Harris leaves, my worst fears confirmed.

So I guess the only way to get or stay "old" these days is to transfer in juniors and seniors. If you replace transfers with freshmen you will always be on the younger, less developed and less experienced end of the spectrum.
