Leaving his weekend official visit to Florida, Baltimore (M.D.) Flowers three-star offensive tackle Mike Williams let it be known just what he thought of the trip.
When asked to rate his official visit on a 1-to-10 scale, he responded, “100.”
What he didn’t share at that time is that he was already committed to Florida.
“My commitment took place Sunday in the exit meeting with Coach [Billy] Napier,” said Williams. “Napier’s message was that he’s seen how I’ve improved from last year and he would love for me to be a Gator. His reaction was genuine and he was very happy to have me.”
Though Napier may have been the one to close the deal, it was set up by hanging around three true freshman linemen.
“My highlight would have to be spending time with the players Roderick Kearney, Bryce Lovett, and Knijeah Harris,” said Williams.
In the end, he said that the ability to be developed is what led him to decide to come to Florida.
“What made me commit to Florida would have to be the offensive line coaches (Rob Sale and Darnell Stapleton) and the way they develop linemen like O’Cyrus [Torrence].”
When asked if he would be taking any other visits, the one-time South Carolina commit said that this is it.
“No Sir, 100% locked in.”
His parting words to the Gator Nation: “I’m coming to work.”
Williams is the No. 1,359 rated prospect in the nation according to the On3 Consensus.
