If the season goes south from here, what will happen with the recruiting class?

I just read a stat that Florida is the youngest team in the SEC per participation rate. Some recruits look at early playing time as a positive, so seeing all the freshmen and sophomores on the depth chart may be an incentive to stay committed.

Billy should have kept Nick Savage

Yeah, this game reminded me of the Arkansas game a few years ago under McElwain where Arkansas won the line of scrimmage on both sides. We know that McElwain didn't emphasize the S&C program. I don't know if this is the case now or not. A big part of getting beat up as Florida did in this game...

I hate to say that it is starting to creep in that maybe Napier isn't the right one

i think most people are delusional in trying to understand where the football program currently stands. Urban Meyer broke the program by his own admission and Muschamp tried his best to clean things up. The past administrations failed to invest in facilities while other programs around the...

    Mullen/Pierce = Napier/Etienne

I think I recall at least two occasions that I noticed Etienne getting run over by a linebacker who went on to sack Mertz. I don't know what his pass blocking grade is, but maybe it could have something to do with his lack of snaps.

    Kamari Wilson

    I'm wondering if he's injured?

    Kamari Wilson

I saw a report on the snap count on Saturday and noticed Wilson did not play at all. I don't know if this is due to performance or injury. Interesting that both Castell and Mitchell played all 66 snaps for safety. Also noticing that Hill was the only CB who played 66 snaps- Marshall played only 59.

    Two Thoughts on a Tuesday

I agree with the points as well, and want to add two of my own. I was never one to judge the new program based solely on won/loss record, as most people seem to do. I want to judge based on how the team performs on the field. I have been somewhat disappointed lately with the continued mental...

Instant Analysis: Brutal start to Napier’s second season

I agree it was a frustrating game to watch, but there were also some positives. I haven't seen the stats on missed tackles, but it seemed for the most part the tackling on defense was better this game compared to the last couple of years. Mertz also did not look too bad. The poor performance of...

    The mindset we need

Not really. Meyer was an embarrassment to the organization, not only on the field but also off the field. He once again created a toxic environment inside the locker room. I'm not a prophet to say one coach will win X number of championships in a certain time frame as opposed to another. But...

    The mindset we need

Don't ask me, ask anyone associated with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

    The mindset we need

Remember that Urban Meyer admitted he had a broken program when he left Florida. The entitlement he gave to certain players contributed to the broken culture that has plagued the program for years.

    Quarterbacks

There was an analysis some time ago suggesting that Brown's floor was higher than what Mertz has shown so far statistically in his career and what one would expect from Miller.

Cane fans think Mincey is committing there today

I'm not sure the timing of a commitment has anything to do with anything. A commitment is meaningless until a LOI is faxed in, and even then, as we saw with Rashada, that can be meaningless. Add to that NIL and the transfer portal, commitments seem to hold little value these days.

How do you explain our recruiting in the state?

There's been some interesting discussion on this topic and I just wanted to add a few points. I don't really have an answer but just some random observations/thoughts: 1. Based on on3 rankings of recruits in the state of Florida, UF currently has 2 commits from the top 10 and 5 in the top 50...

    ESPN thinks we'll go 8-4

I'm not sure how the 8-4 result is arrived at based on the percentages given. I get 6.8 wins based on those numbers, which seems in line with most betting numbers I have seen.
