It's a mess, the truly sad part is everyone knows it, including the NCAA officials, but they do Jac-Dilly-Squad about it because they have no spine.
We worship these kids from the moment they become stars in high school (14-15 years old, let that resonate) and they are pampered and treated like royalty. These are very influential years of their lives and we are teaching them to be so entitled. It's shameful.
The NIL with get fixed once the women demand to be compensated like the men are. I believe the schools will take over the NIL in a couple years which will change things as well.
It's my understanding the athletes already get $10,000 a year for incidentals I.e practice lasts longer than the cafeteria is open, weekend food etc. Every player on every team, pay them $5,000 a month period. If you cannot find a way to make ends meet with $5,000 and no expenses, SMH. The penalty for compensating players more should be a criminal offense. Schools/people/players losing their freedom is far more scary than being banned for a year, which is a joke.
Transfer portal, you get one transfer and you sit out a year. The old system work just fine but these entitled players who want to play now, and you can't blame them, have a free-for-all every single year.
