I agree with most of what is said. FSU simply is not a good choice for the SEC because of past issues (early 90s), the arrogance when the SEC was actually considering them and now with their multiple law suits they are indeed not a good partner. Then with the Big 10, it is hilarious that they believe they are academically superior with those other schools, but USF and Miami were admitted to the AAUs last year and FSU whined they were not invited. UF has been in that prestigious organization since 1985.
I'm shocked USF could qualify as an AAU school. I took some classes there that should have been challenging and it was an absolute joke. That was a long time ago so they have obviously improved but that's a bigger jump than I thought possible.

I agree. When I was in school in the early 70s, students from UF would transfer to USF to just enroll in Organic Chemistry and when finished would transfer back. But obviously they have been improved because of improvements in engineering and adding a Medical School. Just like being a member of Augusta National, you don't apply, they invite you; same as you don't apply to the AAU, they invite you.
