SOS's WORST outing against any team (Bama, MSU, and UT) was winning ONLY 67% of the games in those series. There will NEVER be another UF coach on his level for that extended period of time.

To put that accomplishment into perspective - after starting out 10-14 in conference over his first three seasons, even if Billy Napier went undefeated in the next NINE SEC regular seasons (to go 82-14 overall in the SEC), he would still have a worse SEC winning % than Spurrier.

Spurrier is also the ONLY HBC to have a winning record against Nick Saban; he beat him while he was at LSU and then at Alabama. You are right Mark, Spurrdog is the GOAT. Sadly towards the end, even Spurrier did not win enough for many in our deranged fanbase and that was why he left to Washington.

That was so fun!

It's even more remarkable because he did it with little support from the University. We were not (and are not for the most part) committed to athletic excellence.

Now, there are more than a few people on this board (mostly other boards) who would not be happy with 87-14 and only one championship. They would be mocking him and calling him names....

I tear up thinking about those days. Every fall Saturday was a celebration. We, and to be fair so was F$U, were the envy of college football.

I miss those days so bad.

Now Saturday isn't as fun.

We either lose or don't win by enough to keep fans happy.
