There has been none like him and probably never will. I have been watching him since I was a teenager, and he kicked the winning field goal against the Auburn Tigers in Gainesville that probably clinched the Heisman for him. If Napier does not work out for us (I hope he does), I wish that the powers to be would let SOS pick the next HBC.
One of the good things about Brown and Hanks is that they committed to us when we were down and out and since their father's played here, even if we don't get better and coach gets let go, they will probably stick with us.
If something happens and Napier starts out slow and gets fired I wonder if they would have Spurrier be the interim coach?
I have suggested that in the past. It would be a welcome change if we are bad enough to fire Napier. I have a very strong feeling though, that Napier will shock people this year and we go at worst 8-4. If that happens, I believe he will survive and be successful here.
That would be a dream come true. Let him have a say in who would be the coach in waiting and let him coach a year or two.
