Surprised they haven't played more or played better

This seems like good place to post this, if it's worth posting at all! One of the things that concerned me about the Georgia game, other than the Georgia game, was Marcus Burke and Andy Jean.

I was sitting behind the WR bench and 88 and 6 were inseparable on the far right side of the WR bench. They had a running conversation with each other the entire game, never left each other's side and paid absolutely no attention to the game at all, seemingly could not have cared less about the game or anyone else on the team. They had no interaction with anyone else on the WR bench or the team for that matter. #3 had nothing to do with them and sat on the other side of the WR bench.

I had such high hopes for Jean (6) and Burke (88) seems to have so much talent but they seem to have checked out. I hope I'm wrong but they might be on their way out to make room for the freshman.

BTW, the whole WR bench seemed a little dead and Gonzales seemed focused elsewhere.

Could be wrong, obviously..

Another item from the Georgia game that may not be worth posting but notable to me...

I met the Gator buses (5 of them) at the Sawgrass Marriot. My buddy lives in Sawgrass and that's where I stay when I go to the Georgia game, so the Marriot is easy to get to.

I was a little surprised at the lack of fanfare and low energy of all involved. Hardly a word spoken by anyone inside or out. It was all very hushed. I expected to have to evade security and get all stealthy but we walked right up, Napier passed right in front of us and we were just part of the scene, such as it was.

The Chucky Doll still lives. I think it was Jackson who took it out of the hold of bus #2 and carried it in but it could have been another DL.

Police escort all the way from Gainesville and from the hotel to the stadium, etc.

All white leased buses. I guess I thought we would have at least one University owned bus all painted in Gator regalia.

The Sawgrass Marriot is very nice. Had a drink and some quac downstairs.

The coaches should have sent Burke packing when they were going to last year instead of letting him stick around and infect younger players.

That should be a lesson.

To me, it is the defensive line as a whole.

Other than the spring game and then the first Saturday practice of the fall, we aren't allowed to watch but 15 minutes of practice - so I have to depend on what I hear from those who are at the closed portion of the practices. Go back and read our Inside Scoop practice and camp reports and I was told over and over that the defensive line was having their way with the offensive line.

Later in the fall, I questioned if the defensive line was that good, or the offensive line was that bad.

I guess we've found out the answer to that over the course of the season. Neither unit is really above average in the SEC.

There were reasons to doubt our 2023 OL and DL but I held out hope they would be much better than we thought. Not so much..

The loss of James really magnified the issues on DL.

I question what kind of value we are getting using 2 O-line coaches. Seems to me a waste, when we could use another coach as either the OC or Special Teams coach.
