One more quarterback this year

On twitter it's saying coach Napier said that he is still trying to add another quarterback before the season.

There are some 3 stars left but I don't know if they would make us better.

Reading between the lines it seems he would be open to either of our 2024 QBs reclassifying and coming this summer. If Mertz or Miller can't beat our a true freshman who didn't go through spring practice, we are in trouble! You have to think that whomever we add will not help us during the 2023 season, at least not til latter part of the season.

Miracles do happen but if there's any real thought that a 16 year old is going to skip two years of high school to be any sort of factor on a Power 5 football program - that is more of a feature film script than something based in reality.

Thought he was 17 and he’s already graduated high school. Just makes sense and I don’t think anyone but mertz is the qb this year.

Honestly, to me it wouldn't matter if he was 21. He is still skipping two years of high school seasoning, marurity and experience. He's still missing spring ball at the college level.

If he is any type of competition for what Florida already has, that would be an indictment of how Napier has recruited quarterbacks to this point.

I think he is being added for depth and nobody at this point is available that is better than what we have…not that it’s saying much…
