New OC

Are we going to have to wait until after the next signing day to find out if we're getting a new OC?

We aren't in on any other OL recruits or any offensive recruits. Why would we have to wait to get rid of 1 of the OL coaches to hire a new OC?

If I were you I would put that dream to sleep. Napier isn't going to bring in a OC. He thinks he is a top OC and play caller.

He's a pretty good play caller but there is just no way for an HC at a big program to successful unless he has a good OC. There is just not enough time in the day to successfully run a big program and call plays.

Spurrier was smart enough to call his own plays, as were a few others; ie Norvell, Ryan Day, and Andy Reid. Napier is just not quick enough during the stress of the game to do it all. I also have serious doubts that he will change to an official OC that calls plays. It will probably be his downfall.

The demands on an HC are much, much greater now than they were then. Even Norvell and Day are backing off. Pro coaches have it much easier and might be able to do it but still I bet you could count them on one hand.

I agree, with even Kiffin stepping away as the actual play caller and using Cheeseburger Charlie Weiss's son to actually to call plays.

Cheeseburger Charlie Jr. was a GA when Muschamp was the HBC here. He has Kiffin's trust in calling plays so he must be pretty competent. I'd certainly be happy if it happened.
