There are some coaches that have a feel for calling plays like Spurrier and Kiffin and Mullen, and there's some that don't.

Napier's own fault is that he won't hire a play caller.
It's like being an alcoholic. If Napier doesn't realize he has a problem, he will never fix it. It's not necessarily that he calls bad plays, because the Offense has improved, but I do not believe he has the mental ability to call plays and then successfully manage the rest of the game.

There are different ways to manage games. Tempo and RPO heavy offense is one way but it can also put a lot of pressure on your own defense. Many coaches prefer to run the ball and stop the run. Billy is hardly alone in this approach. See Nick Saban, Kirby Smart, Dabo Swinney, Brian Kelly, etc., etc., etc...

Posters weren't happy with Mullen's offense even while we were winning championships and scoring 40 points per game. They hated the "dive" play even though it set us up for great success.

Our offense is fine. We just need to consistently stop people and kick the ball well.
