Mertz or Lagway in 2024?

Do you want to go with Graham Mertz for another year in 2024 to transition to DJ Lagway or hand the keys to Lagway and let Max Brown back him up?

Mertz starting with Lagway getting snaps in every game no matter if it's close or a blow out.

Mertz if we are going to be good enough to compete for the playoffs.

Lagway if we aren't going to be good and let him get experience for the 25 season.

Mertz 100%. Let Lagway come in learn the system, learn from Mertz how to prepare and regularly play 4-5 series a game for experience or in case of a blowout play more. No way we need a true freshman to come in and start over a quality QB like Mertz. It might remind some of Tebow and Chris Leak.

Lagway. We have a tough schedule next year but a number of those teams are either down or starting new quarterbacks. It’s tough, don’t get me wrong. But a lot of those games are winnable. I’d rather have lagway for 3 years starting.

Would rather have the experienced QB starting, but if Lagway shows to be the best option play him. If not give him snaps later in games to help him along in his development.

I think our offense can open up more with lagway because he's a runner.

Mertz runs backwards more than he does sideways or forward.

Anyone who wants a true freshman QB over someone as good as Mertz does not have a clue. Think Leak-Tebow as the best example.
