Lagway throws deeeeeeep to Mizell. Touchdown. Hell of a play by Lagway to keep the play alive; moving around the pocket and placing an absolute peach of a ball into Mizell's chest.
It's starting to sound like a broken record, but there's another explosive pass, Lagway to Mizell for a score and a 28-7 lead. That was all arm on a mini jump pass.
Lagway has 324 passing yards. The most by a true freshman in Florida history. Previous record was 268 yards in 2003 vs Kentucky by Chris Leak. Was also Leak's first career start.
To hell with what the fans, or that guy in his basement, thinks, will the receivers mutiny if they have to go back to Graham Mertz from DJ Lagway. They all have hopes and dreams and want to be able to display their talent. They can't do that with Mertz like they can with Lagway.
Again, we want to keep the excitement level in check considering the level of competition, but DJ Lagway is averaging a ridiculous 20 yards per attempt tonight.
Lagway's got to slide down sooner. Ref is being thanked with some not-so-friendly cheers in the stands.
It's not like they're going to need it later, but still you don't want to burn a time out coming out of the change of quarter.
