Every update in recruiting is nothing more than a snapshot in time. Several months ago if someone had told me that out of two of the top linemen in the state - Solomon Thomas and Max Buchanan - pick one that would be visiting Florida and one that would eliminate the Gators from their list, I would have said Buchanan Is visiting and Thomas wanted nothing to do with UF.
However, it is the other way around.
Buchanan, whom I first met two years ago before the Utah game when he was incredibly high on UF, released his Top Six, and it doesn't include the Gators.
The writing was probably on the wall when he switched out the official visit date he had with UF to instead go to FSU.
However, at that time he told me he still liked the Gators and the chances were he would still get to campus unofficially.
On Monday however, he told me that the reason UF didn't make the cut was a lack of a relationship with the Gators' coaches.
