Utilizing the college passing calculator and the final season stats provided by Elite11, out of the 20 Elite 11 quarterbacks, Florida five-star signee DJ Lagway came in second in passing efficiency.

He led all quarterbacks in passing yardage and touchdowns and came in third in passing completion percentage.

Unless Mertz is injured again, he will be the starter and according to Lagway's father, they understand and accept that. His dad even said that it will be good for him to learn how to watch film and prepare with Mertz. Anyone who thinks we will be better with this young player as the starter over Mertz knows little about football.
