Coach Billy Napier's grade halfway thru the 23 season

We are 4-2 halfway thru the season. That is probably better than most people thought we would be.

What grade do you give coach Napier halfway thru the year?

I give coach a C or maybe a C+ or B- if recruiting is part of the grade.

He hasn't done anything great or really bad.

He's average so far if you ask me.

Didn't most of the experts think we would only win 5 or 6 games? We have won 4 at the halfway mark. That is better than expected.

We beat the crap out of Tennessee and got revenge on Vanderbilt.

Getting whipped by Kentucky is really the only black mark on the record.

That is at least a B.

We aren't ranked and the hardest part of our schedule is ahead of us.

The way things are going we could lose out or go 1-5 or 2-4 and it wouldn't be surprising to me.

There's room for improvement, but you have to like what you've seen from the defense so far (Napier hired Armstrong) and Mertz is better than I thought he would be.

Overall, though the offense is capable of curing insomnia, a strong B or B- sounds about right to me.

I went C as we’re still playing poorly on the road. And I would think folks believed the majority of our wins would be early. So we’re on pace but have a shot to be better than expected with a solid second half.

I would say a B-. If we get a win against a team that led UGA at halftime, I will upgrade it to a B+ and it will tell me we might have the road woes figured out.

It's hard because is it for only this year or what he's done from the time he was hired?

From the time he was hired he is probably a C- or D+

If it is this year he is a B- or C+

So a C overall?

No As or Fs because he hasn't been great or terrible.

I would give him a B- if it wasn't for how Kentucky tore us apart.

I vote for a C.
