When asked about the quarterback race, he said that he wants to see a few more practices.

He said that UF is making progress in the vertical passing game and he is pleased with that area.

He called the freshmen receivers very fast. He said they have documented (100m) speed. He said receiver is a very skilled position. It is one thing to be fast, it is another to play fast. He said Wilson in particular really cut it loose for the first time.

He said that Florida did well for themselves recruiting secondary in the last cycle. He said that Dijon Johnson since he wasn't here for the spring, is able to do more work during training camp. He said that the way the system is built, freshmen play early. He said they couldn't be more pleased with the secondary.

Great news on Shemar James. I was worried about that. The old unspecified lower leg injury... Always sounds like a high ankle sprain to me and that needs lots and lots and lots of rest. They almost never come back right.

I'm feeling good about this team and it being so far under the radar. It's so much easier to motivate a team that is being disregarded than a team getting lots of love from fans and media. FSU for example is getting a lot of love for the first time in forever. Let's see how they handle it. If they think they are as good as their hype, they could be in for a rude awakening.

I know we didn't finish strong last year and the record wasn't good but objectively we have as much or more talent than half the teams in the top 25 and certainly equal or greater talent than most of the SEC minus Georgia, Alabama, LSU and maybe Texas A&M if they get the collective head out of their collective a**.

Looking forward to year 2 of the Napier era.

Norvel is a pretty good coach, but I feel the same way about this game as I do UF/Vandy and UF/Tenn, there's a score to settle there and these younger players seem to feel that. Its one of the reasons UF could surprise some people.
