We are recruiting better from HS but our portal recruiting still is lagging.

We didn't want any visitors until May so we lost any chance we had at Simmons and lost him to OSU.

Then the S had us as his dream school but before we can get him to visit he commits to ND.

The only players we get that are any good are the players Napier already knew from ASU and ULL.

We better make some changes.

Are you kidding me? He's been killing the portal. Torrence, Mizzccua, All four of our projected RB's for next season were recruited by Napier, 2 from the portal and two from HS. One of our possible starting safeties next year is a portal recruit.

Of course I do. The only thing I've seen him miss on in the portal was a QB1 after Mertz. I think there's something about Mertz Napier really likes but he wanted another one and missed. There's nothing wrong with the numbers he's pulled from the portal if that's all he needed. He's doing a great job recruiting High Schools.

O Cyrus Torrence was an All American playing for UF from the portal and was drafted to the NFL. Did you miss this? Montrell Johnson has been a star RB for UF also from the portal and will likely start the season as UF's #1 RB in a very good RB room where the #3 RB will also be a portal transfer, did you miss all this too? This year again, several portal transfers are going to be starters and stars.

Fans thought he couldn't recruit high school last year because he had like the 12th ranked class.

Now we're in the top 5.

Give him a chance to show if he can recruit the portal or not before you start judging him.

And yet UF had 3 star players last season who were portal transfers, and this season 5 or 6 starting players will be portal transfers. For the programs with the best recruiters, traditional high school recruiting will always be the key to building a championship caliber football program. I see nothing that would change that. The portal has its place, but its function will be different for every program. At UF I don't see why anyone would want a significant part of the roster to be sourced from the transfer portal. UF would only be expected to pick up depth players and an occasional starter. So I don't know what you mean when you say he hasn't done that great. 3 of the teams biggest stars last season were portal transfers and this season 3 or 4 more starter will be portal transfers. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Yeah, and I read yesterday that Napier is down to one scholarship and I imagine he'll hold onto that for a few months in case a sure fire QB with two years eligibility shows up in the portal.
