This isn't saying he should be fired or fearing for his job but considering where he started, how much longer before we expect results from him?

For all the talk about how young we are who on this team do you expect to make a big jump next year enough to help us improve our win total by 2 or 3 games?

I think we'll go 6-6 again this year. What should we expect next year?

If we go 6-6 next year his seat is scorching and if his buyout was less he’d be fired. And should be. I know he didn’t inherit a ton, but he took over a 6 win team. It’s looking like he won’t improve upon his win total in year 2 and that’s scary. We’re not showing improvement and our defense is regressing. Folks need to stop making excuses for Napier not improving this team. And his biggest issue of OL isn’t going to be getting much help in recruiting this year.

And next year's schedule is at least as tough as this one. It appears that having 2 OL coaches is a vast waste of resources.

Schedule is tough on paper but UCF isn’t good, Kentucky loses their OL, Tennessee is starting an insanely talented but new qb. Ole Miss never has a defense under kiffin that can’t be scored on.
More importantly it’s year 3 under Napier. There are no more excuses and it’s time to perform. The players and development will be on him and his staff. I fully expect 4 new coaches on staff next year which is also an issue. His hires haven’t been good.

Let's save the hot seat discussion until after the season. We need a win right now.

And, BTW, if we replace Napier anytime soon, we will be screwed for a long, long time. We'd better hope this works out well.

Why would we be screwed for a long, long time?

Look at Oregon, look at Washington look at Notre Dame, look at LSU and the list goes on and in of teams that hired their coach the same time we hired Napier and they are all ranked teams while we're back here flailing around.

If we lose out to finish this year that should be enough to put him on the hotseat entering next season.
If we lose out to finish this year; the recruiting class will begin to fall apart and that could put the nail in the coffin. He simply cannot lose out. This is a serious question; if he was fired right now and Spurrier took over as the interim, do you think Spurrier would lose out?

He shouldn't be worried about getting fired but he shouldn't feel comfortable with where he's at either. His seat should be at least a little warm.
Coaching seats are always a little warm. College coaching is probably the most paranoid demographic in our country by its nature. It does no good for the fans to whine and moan after every loss. It's just childish and sucks the fun out of it for everyone. There is more than enough pressure on all involved, including the players. We shouldn't try to add to it. It's counterproductive.

Coaches used to be on the hot seat here if they only won 7 or 8 games.

Why does Napier get a pass?
Because people have tried to convince us that we were in a worse position than any other school ever and it will take us until year 4 to be good. I don’t buy that things were that bad.
