Another 5.5 win over/under for Florida. Either a lot of these people are wrong or it's gonna be a rough year.

They aren't impressed with Arky either. It's definitely going to be another bumpy year, but that's partly b/c of the schedule. I'm hopeful that the product on the field will improve week by week. A bowl game would be nice for the extra game reps and practices.

Always looking for any opportunity to go negative huh? And here I was thinking you were starting to sound like a Gator fan.
That’s not negativity. It’s even keeled assessment. Napier has rebuilt this team and has a strong recruiting class started for 2024. Nobody thinks we’re winning the East but Napier just need to win the games we should and outcoach/outscheme a few others and we should easily be bowl eligible if not win 7/8. Improved defense should account for at least 2 wins. Our freshman receivers having as much talent and speed should change a few games. Why is pointing out what these folks think could be a win total that doesn’t get to bowl eligibility make me negative/not a gator fan? It’s fair

It's a freaking game. I'm gonna be right here pulling for the Gators no matter what happens this particular year for no reason at all except I'm a Gator fan. And every time you criticize Gator football, you can expect me to be a royal pain in your as*. I don't know, or care, why you can't just enjoy being a Gator fan and watch this coach bring this program back. It shouldn't matter to you whatever if we win 6, 7, or 8 games this coming season. It's getting better. That's all that matters. It takes as long as it takes.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to see Napier outscheme, outcoach and strategize better than a coach with more talent. Napier at Louisiana had the best recruiting classes and the most talent in the conference. Currently bama, Georgia and lsu (through state loyalty) recruiting at the pace they are, Napier will have to be a better coach than the opposition. I know you’re eternally positive about UF football but don’t you think that’s part of his coaching progression? That’s part of wanting to make a bowl game as that’s how it’s measured and how Napier is progressing. We have the revamped defense, improved speed at receiver, somehow are even better at running back. We should see huge improvement this year but it’s on Napier to get it out of them. I’ll be cheering for the team for 4 quarters each week as well, but this is a message board where varying points can be discussed.

"discussion of varying points"? Right. "We should see huge improvements this year but it's on Napier to get it out of them". You don't have a clue what's going to happen this season, and you have no clue what Napier's progression should look like. I have no idea how this season will end up, though I do think the team performance on the field will improve every week as the coaches work their magic on the youngest roster in the SEC. The difference between us is that it's enough for me that I like this coach. He's honest, humble, believes in core American values and thinks those core values contribute to making UF a better program. He's thorough and analytical, and has a clear view of the kind of coaching and recruiting staff it will take to win in the SEC, and I'm in his corner. I'm not conflicted on any of this.

Of course it’s napiers job to get the most out of this team. That’s why he was hired. And wondering if he can be as effective here when he doesn’t have the most talented roster in the conference like he did at Louisiana is a valid discussion point. He does seem to have the clear view of the coaching staff and recruiting staff to be successful but so do bama, Georgia etc. I hope he’s the guy to bring us back to the national title scene but he has to show the recruits that so they will believe his vision. He doesn’t have the Ryan day benefit of following urban so the product he puts on the field this season matters. Other coaches will negative recruit against him and if you’re a 5 star receiver and you can go to Ohio state and be seen as a first round pick you’re going to have a tougher time picking Florida if our receivers don’t perform.

Go back and read the interviews with the families of the recruits who were on their official visits at UF last weekend. When you get through ask yourself, once these kids and their parents have met Napier and his staff, who and how will anyone negative recruit against him? If they try it will back fire on them. When you attack good people, that's what happens.

Won't teams like Bama, Ohio State, Clemson and Georgia just point to our losing record to recruit against us?

I love Florida football as much as anyone but until we prove it on the field we don't have a lot to brag about when it comes to coach Napier, his staff or the program he is building.

When we win it will shut everyone up.

Your opinion. Mine is I already see the the roster changing, and I read what the recruits are saying about the program, and for the first time since Steve Spurrier was HC, I like the way this program is repping itself. And in spite of the negative recruiting, don't tell me you can't see what they're building for recruiting classes. Billy Napier is building it right.

I have a feeling Arkansas is going to be better than we think.
