He actually looks pissed; unlike he did at our player for being ejected for spitting. Can you imagine what Saban or Kirby would have done to one of their players being ejected for being stupid?

I could see the sidelines on TV and 3 different coaches came up to Lyons and none of them chewed him out.

Exactly. I remember when McIlwain chewed out Kelvin Taylor on the sideline for the 15-yard penalty for his throat slash gesture? It is obvious that Napier's nice guy aproach does not work.

I was shocked to hear we allowed ACC refs in The Swamp. I thought this was outlawed after The Swindle in the Swamp years ago.

That ejection would not have been called by SEC refs.

That struck me as well. I don't know that what we all believe are successful head coaches just let him walk that off without getting in the middle of his ass for that boneheaded play. I think having a little fear of screwing up is a good thing. That there have to be some repercussions.

Anger is not a useful thing generally. You don't need anger to have responsibility. It's really a cop out in almost every case.

There may be some individual players that need that kind of emotional outburst at certain times but it's far from the majority.

There are valid criticisms of Napier (as there are of anyone) but these indictments of his composure are some of the most ridiculous things I've read. Just because you are angry doesn't mean it's the right response a grown up should have.

Tell that to Saban or Kirby.
