Optimistic report and love to hear it. Seems like we still have positive energy despite our record the last 3 years. If we can represent on the field next season, beat the teams we should beat and win a few we probably shouldn't and go a bowl game it will go a long way toward getting it...
There will be a portal window after spring football that could be quite active. I think we might want to start working on that opportunity at this point.
This is sort of a joke but any bad news for FSU is good news for me. Maybe Norvel will take the Alabama job. That would be good news too. He's no great coach in my mind but it would cause some chaos in Tallahassee and that can only be good. They might not be any good anyway in 2024.
I assume he's talking about Ron Roberts from Auburn. He seems to be a really good one but you have to wonder why he's in such a hurry to take a lesser position and why UF? If I were Armstrong, I would be concerned!
I'll take Mertz over Dart, Cook and Nussmeier. I think Nico is going to be good but that's quite a leap to #6 for someone who has never played.
I think Weigman might be my favorite on the whole list though. That guy is going to be great if he can play a full year and not get hurt.
This is a sort of a dumb list. The only feasible candidates are Napier and Chadwell and Chadwell doesn't have a better resume than Napier did when he was hired.
We really need the Napier thing to work or our downhill spiral is going to continue indefinitely. There are no sure fire coaches...
I think you are right and it would be so fun to see it but it's a tall order with our schedule... We could be a better team than teams like FSU and have much worse record...
I think Tennessee's QB could be pretty awesome, from what I saw in the bowl game. Auburn will have good QB play too. Unfortunately I think A&M will too. Their 2023 would have been better had Weigman not been injured.
The demands on an HC are much, much greater now than they were then. Even Norvell and Day are backing off. Pro coaches have it much easier and might be able to do it but still I bet you could count them on one hand.
Hard to argue too much with this. Texas and Oklahoma seem a little high but hard to argue.
Let's see what it looks like on the field. We are due for some good fortune!
