I've already explained this ad nauseam. Wrong offensive system, wrong coach for his skillset. All he has to do for Napier is manage the game, make the reads, hand the ball off 60-70% of the time and dump into the slot or to a TE when the read is there. Look, Napier is better at this than you or myself, doesn't it make a hell of a lot more sense to just allow that he sees something on the film that will work in his system?
I don't think Max Brown will be a surprise starter but I think he will be a surprise contributor.
He's looking good and it's a 12 game season. Mertz and Brown seem to be nice guys and good team mates so wish them both the best but I'm surprised at how much ground Brown has made up, maybe enough to go into the season as QB2 and closing. It's nice to have choices.
