Bielema went 10-4 in his fourth season with Illinois and is 28-24 in Champaign. What does Billy Napier have to do here in his fourth season to deserve an extension?

He needs to make the playoffs, no matter what we are seeded. Top 12 in year 4 at a school where you’ve got everything you have asked for from the Administration is a minimum.
That’s borderline to keep his job, making the top 12 once (assuming he does) while losing almost his entire o line this year…very dangerous to give him an extension after this year.

Napier should have to play under his original contract until it runs out and he is gone or he does something to deserve a raise and extension.
Bret Bielema was better at Arkansas than Sam Pittman, now if he takes Illinois to the Playoffs and Napier does not take us, maybe Bielema comes to Gainesville; his wife is from Tampa by the way.
