Recruiting rankings for top teams repeatedly have shown that recruiting service rankings matter.OK, and? You do understand that Napier doesn't recruit stars, he evaluates athletes with his own eyes and the eyes of the position coach. No one else's opinion matters. He'll go after a three-star as fast as he will a 5-star if he likes what he sees on film. He knows what he needs in his offense and defense on a position basis, and recruits to that. Rating services mean nothing, nada.
It's human nature for fans to think that the coach of their team is special and the rankings don't matter.Recruiting rankings for top teams repeatedly have shown that recruiting service rankings matter.
And for MacIt's human nature for fans to think that the coach of their team is special and the rankings don't matter.
The same thing was said when we had Mullen.
I never said anything of the sort about Mullen b/c I remember his first tour of duty in Gainesville and how it ended. All his second tour proved is that he hasn't changed. Napier has a rep as a coach for his evaluation system. Maybe you haven't read up on it, but one of the reasons his staff is so large is b/c he never skips steps on his player evaluations, they are thorough and his record at Louisiana says it works. I don't see anyone recruiting like him, so I think he's earned the benefit of any doubts. IMO. Mullen is one of the worst HC's UF has had. He and Champ are reversed images of each other. If you could put them together, you might have something, but neither is even an average HC on his own. It's human nature for fans to think that the coach of their team is special and the rankings don't matter.

We'll have 10 5 stars in their next update. They're trying to damage control.
Watch them move our commits up the next time they do their ranking.

You are overlooking Mullen's first 10 years and focused on his last year and a half to say he is below average.I never said anything of the sort about Mullen b/c I remember his first tour of duty in Gainesville and how it ended.
