All we heard was the offensive line didn't give Mertz enough time or it was Billy being conservative but we're seeing with Lagway that our offense can throw deep its that Mertz wanted to go underneath.

The deep ball wasn’t mertz’s strength. It doesn’t stop Billy from telling him to take a few deep shots to keep the defense honest. Lagways legs give him an ability to also keep the defense honest in a way Mertz didn’t with the threat to run.
Napier should have told him that if he's not going to take chances, he can join him on the sidelines and watch the game.
I saw DJ Lagway has the highest grade on deep passes than any other QB.
