James Franklin is making $10 million a year. How much are we going to pay him? If you're him, making $10 million a year, coaching in the Big ten, do you really want to come to the SEC to a rebuilding project?
He consistently loses to the best teams in his conference and the sec has better teams overall. That’s my worry with Franklin.
LOL Ohio St and Mich are the equivalenty to Bama and Ga everybody loses to them. Hell Lane just lost to UK
Elite coaches find ways to elevate their program. I think he is a really good coach, but he has a ceiling that you know where it is. We have bama, Georgia, Texas etc in the sec. Do you think he can elevate Florida to their levels?
Find it odd at all the horrible names thrown out . Not one person but me whom mentions him . However the national media have him in very high regard.
Me personally, I would love to have him. He won at Vandy; dude can coach. Question is, would he leave a great place, near where he is from and back to the SEC. I guess the bottom line is, would you rather play Georgia every year or Ohio State. I think our ceiling is higher than Penn St and he has a former Gator lineman as his OL coach, Phil Trautwein. I would say, make him say no.
Word is he would take the job and he wanted it when they hired this sorry coach.
I was hoping we fired muschamp a year early and hired Franklin back in (I think) 2013. Penn state is a historically good team. If Franklin could do what he could at vandy I thought he’d get Penn state to conference championship level and he hasn’t. I wouldn’t be mad if he was hired, we just need to get this hire right and I have no idea who that is!
