The issue with this statement from Scott Stricklin to CBS Sports is that while the Florida athletic department overall is a success, his hires haven't led to those top five finishes.

Did UF push back on anything or simply decide to cave in to every demand.

I've written this before, and Florida needs to think outside the box in how to structure the football operations.
I've heard a proposal (wasn't my idea, but interesting) of having a board of directors compromised of former players, coaches, etc. hire the coach.
My thinking is to completely decouple football operations from the UAA, and have separate structures in place, with a NFL-type GM in charge.
Let the GM run the entire football operations, recruiting, NIL, transfers, etc. and also hire the football coach.
