After going to overtime in the last two games, Florida wanted to close this afternoon’s game out early. They would take a big lead after halftime but would go on four two-plus minute runs without scoring a single point, including a 3:04 second stretch to close out the game. Texas A&M ended the Gators’ win streak with a 67-66 victory.

IT WAS OVER WHEN: Walter Clayton Jr. missed his jump shot with eight seconds left to go. The Gators would grab the rebound, but Zyon Pullin was forced to take a tough shot. Six players scrambled to get the ball, but the Aggies recovered it. The Gators had nobody but themselves to blame as they did not score a single point in the final three minutes of the game.
THEY STOLE THE SHOW: Tyrece Radford had to step it up after Wade Taylor IV got into foul trouble early. He caused trouble in the first half scoring 15 points and grabbing three rebounds. Radford scored some clutch points towards the end of the game, even scoring the game-winning points with 35 seconds left. He ended the night with 26 points, five rebounds and two assists.
THESE STATS DON’T LIE: The Aggies had 24 attempts from the charity stripe tonight while Florida only had 11. Texas A&M went 63% from the charity stripe scoring 15 vital points. The Gators got into foul trouble early in the second half giving the Aggies 20 free throws. Florida had just two.
THIS MATCHUP PROVIDED KEY: The rebounding battle.
The Aggies lead the nation in offensive rebounding percentage at 43.8%. Florida ranks third with 40.3%. Today, both teams did not slow each other down as Texas A&M grabbed 13 offensive rebounds and Florida grabbed 11. Both teams ended the night with 36 total rebounds.
WHAT A PLAY: Walter Clayton Jr. led Florida on a fast break late in the first half. He played it to Will Richard forcing Tyrece Radford to cover him. The junior floated the ball to Denzel Aberdeen who slammed it home giving the Gators a three-point lead.
UP NEXT: The (15-7, 5-4) Gators are home on Saturday to take on in-conference opponent No. 16 (17-4, 6-2) Auburn. Currently, the Tigers are playing against Ole Miss.
