QUICK Q&A
What was the highlight of your visit today?
“All the football facilities are top-notch. That, and just the love from the coaches.”
Which coaches did you speak with the most, and what did they have to say to you?
“I spoke with Coach [Kali] James the most and Coach [Gerald] Chatman. Basically, they told me that they love my game and I make up for being a little short because I’m a dog.”
What do you think of Florida’s new defensive line coach Gerald Chatman?
“Coach Chatman is a very straight-up coach. He told me everything I needed to hear and I love that. He’s going to come see me in the spring.”
Is there anything new you learned about the Gators today that you didn’t know before? If so, what?
“I learned what it really means to be a defensive lineman for the Florida Gators and the standard.”
What is the most impressive thing you saw either on a tour of the campus or during one of the presentations? What really stood out?
“The locker room was off the charts. And my favorite thing is that everything is Jordan [brand]. That’s so hard!”
How do you feel about Florida after visiting today?
“I feel like Florida is a place I could see myself at for sure.”
It’s still early for you, but do you have any leaders or a leaderboard?
“Yeah, I have some top schools right now that I know of. In no order, there’s Wake Forest, Pitt, Indiana, Tulane, WVU, and Florida, 100 percent, if they extend an offer.”
Did you get a chance to speak with any of the players, if so, who and what did they say to you?
“During the player panel, I learned a lot from the players talking about why they chose Florida and why they recommend it for us.”
What other visits do you have coming up in the next month or so?
“I am going to Indiana next week.”
Maggio is the No. 640 rated prospect in the nation according to the On3 Consensus.
