IN HIS WORDS
“Let’s make Florida great again.” Robinson tweeting out his Florida commitment
‘”It’s still my dream school.” – ITG asked Robinson, who was committed at the time to Texas, why he would come to see a game such as UF against Charlotte
COMMITMENT IMPACT
Back in October, when Florida still had big bodies such as Nasir Johnson (330-pounds) and Amaris Williams (270-pounds) still committed, Robinson looked more like a luxury than a necessity and we had him ranked No. 9 on our Most Wanted Targets List. After those defections, this is a lifeline for the Gators’ defensive line. Robinson joins Michai Boireau as the two defensive tackle signees in this class and standing side by side with each of them, they both have legitimate size, but look like they’ll need a year in the weight room before they are SEC ready.
RANKING REVIEW
I did think he looked a little more mobile as a junior than he did as a senior, but he still carries 300-plus pounds very well. The cause for concern here is that 247 has him rated the lowest out of the four services, and to me, 247 has the most trustworthy instate rankings.

THE BOTTOM LINE
Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. And, that’s what this boils down to. This reminds me a little bit like Joshua Braun‘s recruiting process. Florida lost the recruiting battle, but when the position coach (Sam Pittman for Braun and Bo Davis for Robinson) left at the last second, Florida gained new life. At this point, you’ll take them any way you can get them and in the end, it’s Florida who will be utilizing Robinson’s services. This is a HUGE boost for Florida’s Class of 2024, which moves up three spots to No. 13 on the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking, and a great way to close out the cycle.
