Back in early March Florida offered Rabun Gap (Ga.) Nacoochee School three-star 2024 athlete Trey Horne. On Monday, the Gators offered his 2025 teammate, four-star offensive lineman Justin Hasenhutl.

The offer from UF was the ninth Power 5 offer for the 6-foot-6, 270-pounder.

QUICK Q&A

Did you have a favorite college team (or player) growing up? If so, who and why?
“[Being from Germany] This being my second year in the US, I did not really know about college football when I was younger, so I didn’t really have one.”

You have some impressive early offers, but is there one or two that really caught your attention? A ‘wow’ moment?
“Yes, the Florida offer and Wisconsin. Wisconsin is a good offensive line school and Florida, because everyone in Germany knows about them.”

How did the Florida offer come about? Who did you communicate with and what did they have to say to you?
“Some support recruiter followed me [on Twitter] and then out of nowhere the assistant offensive line coach followed me and just one day later, that was yesterday [Tuesday], I think, the offensive line coach followed me. The assistant coach of the wide receivers [Billy Gonzales] came and saw me in morning workouts at 6:45 a.m., and I think he liked me.”

What are your early impressions of Florida?
“I haven’t been there yet, but my teammate Trey Horne told me a lot about it and that it is awesome.”

Have you visited any college campuses yet? If so, where and what were a couple of your favorite visits?
“I went to Clemson, Georgia, Florida State, NC State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Vanderbilt and to a couple other ones. My favorite ones were UGA and Clemson.”

Do you have any plans to see any schools over the summer?
“Yes Sir, I’ve got a summer plan with a couple of days for camps and visits.”

Will you make a trip to Florida?
“Yes, I think I will be at a camp.”

It’s still early, but do you have any leaders or are there a couple of programs that you know will be there until the very end for whatever reason?
“No, not yet. I can’t decide about that yet because it just has to fit and the coaches have to be the ones for the future and it does not matter what team I am on.”

What’s going to be important to you when you make your choice?
“That I make my mom and my family proud, and of course making German football proud.”

Hasenhutl is the No. 100 ranked prospect in the Class of 2025 according to the On3 Consensus.
