I hate to say that it is starting to creep in that maybe Napier isn't the right one

I love what he has done recruiting but who cares if we get the best players in here if he can't do a good job coaching them.

He is 9-9 as the coach and he keeps losing games to teams he should be beating.

Making him hire an OC and ST coach should be the first step but if he won't or doesn't get the right coaches he should be on the chopping block himself.

i think most people are delusional in trying to understand where the football program currently stands.
Urban Meyer broke the program by his own admission and Muschamp tried his best to clean things up.
The past administrations failed to invest in facilities while other programs around the country spent tons of $ building theirs.
This also includes student housing which Florida lacked badly compared to other programs.
For some reason, there are fans that think that UF football has a God-given right to win championships, but it's not so easy.
People need to stop looking at other programs/coaches, since Florida has been so far behind other programs that it will take time to catch up.
I am not sure what people expected from the Kentucky game.
Kentucky is a big, physical, experienced football team, and Florida is not, yet.
I did a quick count of SR and JR on both depth charts.
Kentucky had 22 SR, 8 JR - Florida had 3 SR, 17 JR.
Also, it seems Florida starts 5 freshmen and Kentucky 0.
So 5 Florida starters are experiencing an SEC road game for the first time.
Many of the Florida SRs and JRs were transfers also experiencing an SEC road game for the first time.
I don't know if Napier will win championships or not, but at least for now and the next few years, he needs to be given time to build a program the right way.
He is not getting fired any time soon.

My knee-jerk reaction is that I've had enough and Napier is not the man to turn this thing around. HOWEVER, we cannot keep firing coaches every 3-4 years or we will become permanently like Tennessee was for a few years. As much as I hate to say this, we have to give Napier time to fix the mess he inherited. That being said, he MUST hire an OC to call plays or next year will be his last. He MUST hire someone as an on the field coach to have direct responsibility for Special Teams. There are a ton of Stubborn Head Coaches who are not Head Coaches anymore because they refused to adapt with the times. As much as I do not like Saban or Smart, they have evolved over what they want to do as Coaches and that is what has made them so successful. I sincerely hope Coach Napier can adapt from his blueprint on what he thinks needs to be done to be successful because it is NOT working and he seems by all accounts to be a really good person and because of that and because of my love for the Gators, I want him to succeed.

We are stuck with Napier for the foreseeable future. Plain and simple. We can only hope he gets better. But Kentucky did not field a more talented team Saturday. They had more experience but less talent. There was no excuse for Florida to be completely non-competitive in that game. The SC game will be very revealing. If UF is nit competitive in that game it will be hard to believe Napier will ever be successful at UF.

I'm not over reacting to a bad game but that was a really bad game and you are only afforded so many embarrassments. This is at least 3 complete embarrassments for Napier (Vandy loss, bowl loss and this one). We have to at least look like we belong... You only get so many opportunities to lose like that.

I remember the Georgia Southern loss was the one that was just too much for Muschamp to keep the job.. Just too embarrassing on the heals of other bad games.

Like Muschamp, I think Napier will get every benefit of the doubt. He's a good dude.

Also, I think there is no doubt the new rules have created more parity than we have ever seen and that should make it more difficult to dominate for long periods. We still have players with COVID years of eligibility and that's going away in the next year or two. That should help us. We have been a young team vs. our schedule for a long time.

For better or worse, we are stuck with Napier. He isn’t going anywhere. I still have hope that he can pull this out. The problem is once it gets this toxic it becomes much harder to succeed. Recruits hear what is going on and they start to question whether they want to go to a school that seems bent on firing the coach.
That said. Napier put himself in this position. Twice already this season, his team has looked completely unprepared. He cannot seem to get his team ready for a road game. He insists on calling the plays on offense and there is no indication that he is any good at it. If he wants to succeed he must hire a good OC.
