Napier said he was very disappointed with the performance of the team. The lesson is execution wins.
He met with the team leaders and said that they can't waste the experience. They have to change, learn, adapt, and grow.
He is, as he has to do, playing up the McNeese tradition (but they are terrible) and then said that this week is about improvement and competing this week like McNeese is the best team they'll play this year.
He gave Utah credit, but talked about the self-inflicting wounds and the Gators beating the Gators.
He said the procedural penalties were surprising. They had a clean fall camp, practiced with crowd noise and he felt confident that they were ready to play.
Hopefully they can get the Defensive calls in sooner so the team is scrambling trying to get lined up before the other teams snap the ball.
He said that there was a unique situation where they had to have three units prepared to go on the field and that caused some issues. I assume he is talking about the 55 yard field goal attempt where UF only had eight (maybe nine) players on the field.
Maybe the most animated I've seen him, Napier defends the special teams after another question on them.
Napier said looking back on it, they could have been more committed to the running game, but being down 17-3, 24-3, it impacts the approach. Credited Utah for their tackling.

Napier said negative plays are the enemy. When it's second and long and third and long, it's tough sledding. UF has to be better on first and second down, stay on schedule.

He said not all the sacks aren't on the offensive line (like I remember the first sack was against tight end Odom).
He said Florida lived in third and long, and that's not good. They want to live in third and manageable. They need to eliminate negative plays.
He had good things to say about Eugene Wilson and Miguel Mitchell, who he said was one of the players of the game.
Napier said that Princely Umanmielen 'landed' a few times, but said that Utah did a good job of getting the ball out quick. He said he will be fine.
