I heard them talking on the radio that we have 2 OC and 2 DC. Sale and Calloway and Roberts and Armstrong.

Even with 2 OC Billy still calls the plays.

We are the model of disfunction.

The switch to Roberts being up in the coaches box didn't help.

I don't think we're going to get the defense right this year.
I agree and the fact that Tennessee is putting such a good defense (and offense) on the field and we are not is very telling. Tennessee nailed the AD and HC hires and we didn't. I think Tennessee has had an advantage in the NIL space for some reason but, still, the contrast to what we are doing is so stark and Heupel only has one more year at the helm.

I think both Stricklin and Napier are getting criticism they do not deserve.
They both have their faults and deserve some of the criticism, but fans need to realize how far behind Florida has been compared to other SEC schools.
Many are praising Foley these days , but he has been the cause of many of these current problems.
Florida has finally caught up with the rest of the SEC heavyweights in the area of facilities that should have been built thirty years ago, and this is why Stricklin was hired in the first place.
The real problem has been that the current college landscape has changed dramatically in the last three years (transfer, NIL), and Florida three years ago was where they should have been in 2000!
All this points to is the support level for football has not been on the level it should have been during Foley's administration.
In terms of the topic of this thread, I am beginning to think that the DC/OC hires may be more important than the HC hire.
I know the correct OC/DC hire is an important part of being a HC, but interesting how the OC hires doomed Muschamp, DC hires doomed McElwain and Mullen, although I still believe that the latter two had somewhat abrasive personalities which really caused them to get fired.
However, had they had a DC that was able to field a top defense, the personality quirks may have been overlooked.
I also feel Florida's offense was not the same after Mullen left Meyer's staff, and he hired Addazio.

Strickland's only fault as far as I am concerned was hiring Napier. Golden appears to be great, facilities are on the upswing, and NIL appears to be coming around. Unless Napier can miraculously win 7 games, we cannot let this continue.
