Despite staff defections, Florida holding on to four-star

You really can't blame Miami (Fla.) Edison four-star wide receiver Syveion Ellis‍ if he were feeling a bit lonely as of late.

After Lakeland (Fla.) Lake Gibson athlete Sam McCall‍ decided to open things back up again, that meant that Ellis found himself as Florida's lone commit in the Class of 2022.

On top of that, his two primary area recruiters – Torrian Gray and Brian Johnson - on the Gators' staff have both moved on in the last month.

This and Arnold sound like the doom and gloom that gets talked about. It can't be that bad.

Give us some good recruiting news to bring us fans out of our funk.

There's no doom and gloom involved. I simply write what they say and then in TIS recap, share my feelings. I thought that Bama and UGA were ahead of UF even before all the talk of UF not taking him. I think once English left, not that he is a great recruiter, but that was his main contact and even back then, kids who talked to him weren't convinced it was Florida.

As for Ellis, the same thing. Nolton Jr said he doesn't talk to Ellis (I'm not even sure he is still at Edison) and Ellis himself told me he hasn't caught up with Gonzales.

Trust me, I haven't asked a kid to say something positive or negative about Florida. They say what they say and I report it.
