Five Fast Thoughts: The only thing that will stop Copeland, is Copeland

There was some good, some bad and then some ugly in Columbia on Saturday afternoon. Here are Five Fast Thoughts as No. 9 Florida came from behind to beat South Carolina 38-27 to continue to control their own destiny in the SEC East.

-----

I write the outline for this as the game is being played and then go back in and fill in the blanks post-game. Thus some ‘takes’ might seem a bit dated or perhaps even over the top as I write my thoughts ‘in the moment’. Plus, this is a bit more of a ‘raw’ update in that I write what I write and really don’t go back and check the game tape or even worry about grammar or punctuation before publishing the article.

Five Fast Thoughts: The only thing that will stop Copeland, is Copeland

Copeland always has drama ever since he was a recruit. If he gets his head on straight he will be a good one for us.

When you see the behavior of his mother at his recruiting announcement it's not hard to understand where Copeland gets it from.

I get this piece are thoughts, but you would not think Florida won after reading this. Sheesh!

It probably seems that way because I write them as the game is happening, and for 3/4 of the game, Florida wasn't winning.

Then to add on it to it the part the officials played, and while you'll always take a win, and this one counts as much as any other, this wasn't a feel good type of outing for the most part.

What the win does mean though, if Florida can get healthy over the bye, this upcoming game against Georgia will likely be for the East.

But did anyone expect anything else besides a messy game? Florida just needed to survive by any means and get away with a win. It wasn't pretty by any means, but there is no way we win without this staff. The culture is definitely different from the past regime. They are coaching through a lot of decencies on the roster and we are still 7-1 heading into the bye. After week zero, I don't think too many expected that.

But like you said, we have to get healthy, but this program is headed in the right direction. It's just different now because those guys seem so unselfish and they don't flinch!

I remember that was about the worst announcement ever.

He's getting older and getting more mature he'll outgrow all this and his talent will make him a great player.

Compare the way Mullen handled the rain compared to Smart.

Similar to Alex Collins announcement. His mother wanted him to go to Miami and he committed to Arkansas, so she took his loi and left the school!

Copeland is special and BG will have him as the next OBJ.
Our starters next year are Copeland Grimes & Toney. I don't see a lot of drop off other than depth.

Copeland had a good game but hold off on putting him up next to OBJ.

OBJ is known for his hands and Cope has already missed 2 sure touchdown catches this season

Fair enough - but luckily I have at lease 2 more years for Copeland to live up to my statement
