What will it take for Mertz to get respect and Heisman hype

We are 5-2 and about to be ranked. By any standard anyone set before the season Graham Mertz has surpassed it.

What is it going to take for him to start getting more respect from national media and the writers who cover the team and start getting hyped up as one of the best quarterbacks who should at least be getting some Heisman talk.

He has to start consistently hitting intermediate and deep balls. His short stiff is incredible but he has been poor hitting the mid and long stuff. Today was largely the same. We can’t celebrate the great things he does while ignoring the bad.

If he plays like he did yesterday and we beat UGA you can bet he will start getting Heisman attention.

Run the table, and even then it would be to late for this year. However, he has another year of eligibility and I would love for Lagway to learn behind him next year and if Mertz keeps improving, he could be on a watch list for next year.

They only invite 3 players to NY and he isn't considered a top 20 candidate.

If he plays like he's been playing he can be a favorite to start next season.
