Notes for the game:

- Georgia heads into the matchup on a three-game skid, losing most recently to Arkansas.
- Both team rank within the top-20 in defensive efficiency. Defense is the name of the game for UGA, who has struggled so far this year offensively but found its ways to victory through the defensive end of the court.
- UGA freshman center Asa Newell is one of the most eye-catching young talents in college basketball right now. He is solid defensively and also can hold his own offensively (15.5 PPG).

Florida is looking for its 12th straight victory against its cross-state rivals.

Florida is bullying UGA in all aspects of the game. Gators are 10-12 from the field and have forced nine turnovers. Right now, UGA has more turnovers than shots attempted.
