Either Napier is planning to hire someone still in the playoffs or he is making no changes to play calling. The only possibilities of the teams still in the playoffs would be Notre Dame OC Mike Dembrock who might consider leaving since he will have a new QB next year or Chip Kelly who will as well. Sark is his own OC and Penn State's OC could be worse than Napier. My bet (I hope I am wrong) is he will hire no one.

A lot of assumptions here .... first that CBN will hire an OC, and that he would hire a current OC from the college ranks.
It is safe to assume there will be staff changes, since Armstrong left leaving room to hire one more assistant.
It is not clear if anyone else is leaving.
It has been reported that there are a number of contracts that expire at the end of this month.
Also, don't forget about the NFL which has it's last regular season game this weekend, so he could hire someone from those ranks.
The other thing that I suspect is that CBN does not outright publicly fire his staff, outside of Raymond and Spencer - both of which were rumored to have not held their players accountable.
So if he is planning to "fire" someone, I suspect that will happen in the next couple weeks to allow whoever is leaving to find a job in the NFL, or elsewhere.
So I am guessing most of the hiring/firing will probably not be finalized before the middle of this month, and more likely toward the end of it.

I think my biggest disagreement here is your opinion on the Penn state OC. We all saw the regression of Kansas without him.

I'm not sure why we should be in such a hurry to replace coaches. There seemed to be a lot of unity and we looked like a well coached team in the second half of the year.

Napier is a good play caller but I just don't think there is enough time in the day to do both at UF. The time spent preparing and calling plays is time not spent on recruiting, fundraising, transfer portal, program building, managing coaches, etc., etc.

If we make changes they will be subtle. I hope....

I agree with your points, but I don't think anyone here in this thread has commented about a need to replace a coach.
First, there will most likely be one coach hired, since Armstrong left and there is a vacancy in allotted assistants.
Second, my previous comment was to regard of the timing of hiring another coach, since one has not been hired yet.
It is not clear what Napier intends to do, and while I note contracts are expiring, that does not necessarily mean Napier is firing a coach. It could mean a coach could choose to leave or that internal changes to staff are possible.
All is speculation on my part and mostly based on how NFL schedules are playing out as well as current coaches contract structure. I would not be displeased if all current coaches are retained.

Working for Napier probably isn't a big draw right now but I would think DJ would be a big draw for someone to make a name for themselves as an OC.

Never hurts to get your mug on TV at the Heisman ceremony!

Billy needs to hire some experience. He hasn't done that much. I don't know if he can't get coaches with proven track records or doesn't want them.
