In trying to put together my spring preview, I asked a source close to the offensive line the last couple of years for some thoughts on the unit - mostly to see how the depth chart will break down.
Here are their thoughts:
How he believes the two-deep offensive line will shake out -
LT: Austin Barber, Devon Manuel
LG: Knijeah Harris, Christian Williams
C: Jake Slaughter, Rod Kearney
RG: Dameion George, Noel Portnjagin
RT: Dickson-Crenshaw, Fletcher Westphal
Florida is better off without Micah [Mazzucca]. He was a problem in the locker room and just wasn’t for the team.
Losing Richie [Leonard] hurts because of how vocal he was and the experience he brought to the table.
------
I asked what makes him think that George can be an effective guard after playing every game at Alabama and Florida as a tackle.
He’s practiced there before and I think he is definitely more comfortable there. We messed around with him during camp and during the bye week at guard.
