What's going on with Desmond Watson that I didn't see anything from the combine from him.

I haven't seen anything from practice so he isn't coming back or is he.

Is it like that safety that’s coming back but he's waiting for his appeal to go through.

I think Big Dez has exhausted his eligibility and I'm going to miss him. Seemed like a great dude and he was a solid player at a critical position.

I hope he does well in life.

Anything can happen, maybe he's been working his ass off these last three months and comes to Pro Day in much better shape, but there was little chance of Watson being drafted if he is in the 450-pound range.

That's just reality.

According to Pro Football Reference, the heaviest football player in the NFL last season was Daniel Faalele at 384-pounds - and he stands 6-foot-8 and as an OT, doesn't have to move as much chasing down players and plays as does a defensive tackle.

The thing is, if he were a 100-pounds lighter, with the way he moves, Watson would be talked about as a day two type of pick.

I saw him just prior to his junior year at an Orlando camp (he was going step by step with Gervon Dexter and looked every bit as good), and then later that summer at his high school, he looked to be in the 300-320 range and looked like a future star. Then, but the next spring, heading into his senior season, I saw him at an Orlando camp, and he had blown up weight-wise. He was struggling after a rep or two.

Look, it's hard to talk about weight - and the point certainly isn't to shame him in any way. He might be the most likable player on last year's team. Just a nice young man. I am not trying to be an armchair analyst here, in over my head assessing the underlying causes, but part of his issue might be that because of his family dynamics, food brings him comfort.

I hope, for his sake, he does at least get a camp invite. I think he needs football to help get this under control and be the best version of himself that he can be.

Fingers crossed for him to show out tomorrow.
