It worries me that writers or experts who don't have a dog in the fight and don't have anything against Florida or Napier thinks he's this bad.

We fans want him to be good so maybe we're not looking at it objectively and everyone else is.

He's is taking a big step up from ULL to begin with and on top of that he's had some bad luck.

Kitna played pretty well when he got his opportunities. I'd be much happier with the QB room if he were still here.
I'm sure he thought he would have Richardson for one more year. He's really having to scramble.
He's building a program in a way that would have kicked butt 5 years ago but the world of NIL and transfer portal has forced some adjustments, again scrambling.
Richardson lost a couple of games all by himself last year despite his talent.
We gave Tennessee, LSU and FSU as good a run as anyone. We just needed a stop and couldn't get it.
We are going to be a better team this year but the record might be worse because of the schedule.

He needs to create a positive vibe that will survive some tough losses this year. If he can do that, the perception of Florida football could take a jump in 2024.

Carlos Del Rio played pretty well when he got his opportunities. I'd be much happier with the QB room if he were still here.

What you said is what might be our undoing. The way he is going about building this team would be great 4-5 years ago before the portal.

I don't know that it is the best way to do it today and it doesn't look like he is changing anything about the way he does things.

Not sure they think he is bad, just hasn’t built the program to warrant a higher ranking. Seems a bit like we will have a norvell path to rebuild which takes far longer than we’d like. Heck, year 3 will have a true freshman under center in all likelihood.

I think Napier is better than most think too. We played hard last year and ran into a tough schedule and some bad luck, and a couple of brain farts by AR...

I just wish he would realize you can't successfully a run a big time program like this and call plays on Saturday. It's just too much, even for very experienced coaches, which he is not.

He is very experienced, but I think I know what you mean, and I hope he'll find someone he feels he can trust with OC responsibility. I wish we hadn't lost Brian Johnson. He was the real QB whisperer at Miss St with Dak Prescott and Kyle Trask at UF. He deserves whatever he has, but I wish he was still at UF.

I would feel a lot better about the team if Kitna didn't fuck up.

I would feel a lot better if the NIL collective and all the sketchy people claiming to be repping the Rashada family hadn't destroyed that commitment. And, yeah, Kitna was looking like the next Trask. Then a couple of portal QB efforts didn't go through. But it is what it is. UF will have an actual defense for a change, and they'll have what may be the best RB room in college football and possibly a better o-line than last season. And no one has yet seen Mertz perform with the playbook open and a WR room that actually knows their routes and have some timing down. Give him and the coaches time to do their jobs. The fun of this season will be watching this staff manage a vastly improved talent pool. They're young, but really talented.
