Mullin was a lazy recruiter and that might not have changed no matter what.
You people forget that it was Mullen who ended the streak against Kentucky and lost to Tennessee, South Carolina and Missouri his last year. He couldn’t recruit OR coach on game day. You also forget if Felipe Franks hadn’t of broken his ankle, Trask would have never played. Yeah, convince yourself that Mullen was good. Napier will probably be gone after next year but Mullen started this mess.
I wish Muschamp, McIlwain, Mullen and Napier could each win two Natty's and then start a mess. I would take Meyer back in a second.
It was over by then so he had a foot out the door. To say Mullen couldn't coach is ridiculous.
You are letting a year and 2 games overshadow 10-12 years where he was always considered a top 5-15 coach in college football.
That's a good answer. Maybe neither are long term solutions but Mullen would have a better record next year than Napier will.
What about what he did at MSU and his first two years here?
I don't think either are very good but if I had to pick one it would be Mullen.
