As I've written before, there's still a long way to go until signing day, and the way things have gone, even then it's not final.
But there's a few things that confuse me a little bit, now with the House settlement being applied - which I thought was going to start July 1. The players now will be paid through money from revenue sharing, which is capped at $20.5M for ALL sports. So football will be allocated some amount less than that as decided by individual schools - I thought I've read somewhere along the lines of $15M or so. The other thing was that I thought that any NIL deal over $600 had to be cleared as being a legitimate NIL deal as opposed to pay-for-play as it is now. Since these are new rules, it remains to be seen how things shake out with the current recruiting class in the end.

I don't think there will be a hard cap. Look at what Texas Tech is doing. They are paying players across all the sports outrageous money all because they have a billionaire donor. They gave a softball player more than our top football players earn.
