Baton Rouge (La.) Catholic three-star offensive tackle Blaise Thomassie took his first of four official visits over the weekend when he tripped to the University of Florida.

The 6-foot-5, 260-pounder has the Gators leading but will see Stanford (6/8), TCU (6/12), and Duke (6/20) over the next three weekends.

QUICK Q&A

What was the highlight of the visit to UF?
“The highlight for me was being able to get around some of the players for the first time. Hanging out with Austin Barber and Jake Slaughter gave me a good gauge of the brotherhood and culture they have in the O-line room.”

What did the coaches have to say to you?
“In the individual meetings I had with the coaches they really tried to show me how my game will translate over to the way they play. They also wanted to really make sure I had all my questions answered and wanted Florida to be the place for me.”

What players did you speak with and what was their message to you?
“Jake and Austin were the two players I talked to most and they really said that they see me fitting in well in the O-line room.”

What’s next as far as any upcoming official visits?
“My next visits are Stanford June 6-8, TCU June 12-14, and Duke 20-22.”

Where does UF stand with you right now? Who are the leaders? What is the timeline for making a decision?
“UF is definitely my top school right now. I want to make my decision after all my officials, in late June or early July.”

Thomassie is the No. 760 ranked prospect in the nation according to the On3 Industry Composite.
