FIVE-STAR HAS FLORIDA IN TOP SIX, VISITING (TWICE)
Upper Marlboro (MD) St. Frances Academy five-star safety Jireh Edwards has included Florida in his Top Six and will visit the Gators, twice.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder, who tweeted out his finalists on Wednesday evening, said he plans on visiting UF over the summer and will return in the fall.
When asked what brought about the June unofficial visit, he responded, “I’m just [trying to] stay building a better relationship with all the coaches.”
He was then asked if he could potentially take a UF official visit.
“Yeah. I will take a visit during the season.”
Edwards is the No. 21 ranked prospect in the nation according to the On3 Industry Consensus.

FOUR-STAR HAS FLORIDA AS A FINALIST
Monday evening Milton (Ga.) Cambridge four-star receiver Craig Dandridge tweeted out a Top Six, which included Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma, Stanford, and Tennessee.
When asked by Inside the Gators why UF made the cut, Dandridge replied, “The education they have can help set me up with a great future, my relationship with Coach [Billy] Gonzales, and their culture.”
There is a fly in the ointment.
He has official visits set with four of the six – with Florida and Stanford on the outside looking in.
When asked about a potential UF official visit date, Dandridge replied, “We haven’t been able to set a date yet.”
What he does have is UGA this weekend (5/30), followed by GT (6/6), UT (6/13), and OU (6/20).
Dandridge is the No. 289 ranked prospect in the nation according to the On3 Industry Consensus.

LINEMAN CUTS LIST TO TOP FIVE
Baton Rouge (La.) Catholic three-star offensive tackle Blaise Thomassie announced via Twitter that he has cut his list to a Top Five consisting of Duke, Florida, Stanford, TCU, and Tulane.
The 6-foot-5, 260-pounder has official visits set with UF for this weekend (5/30), Stanford (6/6) and Tulane (6/19). He told ITG that he also had one set with Houston, but since they aren’t on the Top Five, I’m not sure that one will still happen.
When asked why UF made the cut, Thomassie responded, “I love the staff, especially Coach [Rob] Sale and Coach [Jonathan] Decoster. The school is great academically and athletically, and I think it could be a great fit for me and my future.”
The 6-foot-5, 260-pounder isn’t exactly unfamilar with the University of Florida. As ITG reported when he was offered back in March, his great grandpa played for the Gators and his great grandmother was the first Homecoming Queen at UF.
Thomassie is the No. 727 ranked prospect in the nation according to the On3 Industry Consensus.

FOUR-STAR TWEETS UF OFFICIAL VISIT DATE
This is interesting, and the rollercoaster that makes recruiting so much fun.
To this point in the process, Venice (Fla.) edge Asharri Charles hasn’t mentioned Florida as a possibility or been lined with the Gators, much, or really at all.
Then, today, out of nowhere he tweeted out that he will be officially visiting UF this coming weekend.
As far as I know, this may actually be his first visit to campus. He was supposed to be at the UF-UM game to open last season, but he messaged me that he had something family-related come up and couldn’t make it.
Inside the Gators asked him why Florida is getting an official visit, and Charles responded, “To (see if they can) make a strong impression and showcase what makes UF the best choice for my football career.”
Charles is the No. 180 ranked prospect in the nation according to the On3 Industry Consensus.

FOUR-STAR WITH A TOP THREE?
Tupelo (Ms.) four-star defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy, who visited Florida over the spring for a practice, but wasn’t able to attend the O&B Game due to flight issues out of Memphis, responded to a tweet about him being one of the top uncommitted linemen with a retweet of emojis representing the Texas Longhorns, Florida Gators and the LSU Tigers.
I messaged him asking if those were the top or final three, but he hasn’t responded.
Either way, the 6-6, 245-pounder is scheduled to officially visit UF next weekend (5/30), followed by trips to UT (6/6), Ole Miss (6/13), and LSU (6/20) before making his announcement on July 1st.
McCoy is the No. 161 ranked prospect in the nation according to the On3 Industry Consensus.

FLORIDA IN THE TOP SIX
Florida has been near or at the top for Cocoa (Fla.) four-star defensive back CJ Hester for a while now. Today, he released his Top Six, which consisted of Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Miami, and Syracuse.
When Inside the Gators asked him why Florida made the cut, he replied, “Really just the relationship I have with them.”
He was also asked if one or two programs are standing out above the others.
“I can’t really say that there’s one or two that will stay until the end but I’ll just have to see on my commitment date.”
For now, Hester has official visits set to Florida (5/30), Syracuse (6/6), Georgia (6/13), and Iowa (6/21).
Hester is the No. 264 ranked prospect in the nation according to the On3 Industry Consensus.

UNRANKED EDGE OFFERED, SETS UF OFFICIAL VISIT
On Wednesday afternoon Florida joined Georgia in becoming the second SEC program to offer unranked Valdosta (Ga.) defensive end Corey Howard.
Howard said that having two SEC East powers offer was huge.
“It was a big moment for me and my family,” said Howard. I love both programs and coaching staffs.”
According to the 6-foot-6, 235-pound Howard, it was UF edge coach Mike Peterson who pulled the trigger. “Coach Mike [Peterson] offered me,” explained Howard. “He said he loves how I play and can’t wait to meet me.”
Peterson won’t have to wait long. Howard has five official visits set, with Florida coming up next weekend at the end of a recruiting dead period.
Official Visit Dates:
Georgia State 5/21
UF May/30
UConn 6/4
UGA 6/13
South Alabama 6/19
When asked about leaders, Howard replied, “I don’t have any yet. I’m looking for a family [atmosphere] and a place to grow.”

CENTRAL FLORIDA RECEIVER HAS UF IN HIS TOP SIX
Lake Mary (Fla.) three-star receiver Brian Williams visited Florida unofficially last month, and how the 6-foot-4, 185-pounder will return next weekend for his official visit.
Williams told Inside the Gators back in April, after his first ever visit to the University of Florida, that he would return on an official visit because of how much he enjoyed that first trip.
“That was my first time there and I expected a lot, but it was definitely more than what I expected,” he said. I was impressed. Definitely meeting the coaches and touring the campus [were highlights]. “It’s absolutely beautiful.”
On Tuesday he tweeted out his official visit schedule:
Penn State (5/16)
Florida (5/30)
Alabama 6/8
Kentucky 6/13
Notre Dame 6/22
Williams Jr. is the No. 1,145 rated prospect in the nation according to the On3 Industry Composite.
