Leaving his Florida official visit on Sunday, Garner (N.C.) South Garner four-star offensive tackle Ekene Ogboko declined an interview request. However, Inside the Gators was able to catch up with the 6-foot-6, 285-pounder on Monday for a Quick Q&A about how his visit went and where the Gators currently stand with him.
With an offer list that includes the likes of Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Southern Cal, Texas among others, UF has their work cut out for them.
QUICK Q&A
What was the highlight of the visit to UF?
“The highlight of the visit to UF was probably the breakfast we had Sunday morning at a barn. It was really good.”
What did the coaches have to say to you?
“The coaches said I was a priority for them and that they have a plan of development for me and I could possibly play early.”
What players did you speak with and what was their message to you?
“I spoke with offensive tackle Caden [Jones] and his message was that development was a big thing and he said the coaches can do that for me.”
Where does UF stand with you right now? Who are the early leaders?
“They are a little late. They just got into the race and they’re at the bottom right now but they can work to the top. There’s not exactly any early leaders right now.”
Up next for Ogboko are official visits to Clemson (5/30), Georgia (6/5), Alabama (6/13), and Notre Dame (6/20).
Ogboko is the No. 67 ranked prospect in the nation according to the On3 Industry Composite.
