FLORIDA TO GET AN OFFICIAL VISIT FROM TOP TARGET

Florida may not be on fire as far as current commitments and standing in Team Recruiting Rankings, but the Gators continue to receive good, if not great, news when it comes to their standing with some of the top talent remaining on their board.

On Thursday, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy five-star rush end Jake Kreul listed UF as one of his five summer official visit destinations.

The 6-foot-2 1/2, 225-pounder’s summer official visit schedule:

Colorado: May 2-4
Ohio State: May 30-1
Florida: June 7-9
Texas: June 13-15
Oklahoma: June 20-22

When asked why UF made the cut for a coveted official visit, Kreul replied, “I grew up a die-hard Gators fan. I love the hype around the team and what is being built and think I can make an impact early as well as having great relationships with the whole staff.”

Kreul is the No. 36 ranked prospect in the nation according to the On3 Industry Consensus,

ALABAMA COMMIT TO SEE FLORIDA, AGAIN

Though Atlanta (Ga.) Hapeville Charter four-star offensive lineman Chris Booker is currently committed to Alabama, that isn’t stopping the 6-foot-4, 284-pounder from checking out other programs to see what his options are.

He visited Florida back in March for a spring practice, on Wednesday he tweeted out that he will return to Gainesville in June (13-15) for an official visit.

Why is a prospect pledged to one of the top programs in the nation taking other official visits?

When asked, he responded, “I just want to experience everything. My mom wants to see it, I’m curious as well. [Besides Florida] I’m taking official visits to South Florida and Georgia as well. Georgia Tech may be added to that list.”

What will it take to pry him away from the Tide?

“I’m not sure,” said Booker. “I’ve never really given it that much thought. But what I do know is that I’m going to pick the best school for me and my family at the end of the day. So if it feels right, it feels right.”

Booker is the No. 289 ranked prospect in the nation according to the On3 Industry Consensus,

FOUR-STAR SETS UF OFFICIAL VISIT

Tuskegee (Ala.) Booker T. Washington four-star receiver Marquez Daniel, the No. 168 ranked prospect in the nation according to the On3 Industry Consensus, tweeted out on Tuesday that he will take his official visit to Florida on the June 13-15 weekend.

Two weeks ago the 6-foot-5, 187-pounder included Florida in his Top Six, including Arkansas, Auburn, Miami, North Carolina, and Tennessee.

He visited Florida unofficially last spring, last summer, and then again this March.

When asked why UF was getting an official visit, he replied, “Florida is a great place and school. I believe in them to make me better at the next level and I really appreciate them for trusting in me. I love the atmosphere and the environment at the Swamp.”

GATORS IN THE TOP SEVEN

Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star defensive tackle Preston Carey released his Top Seven on Monday afternoon.

Carey, the No. 278 ranked prospect in the nation according to the On3 Industry Consensus, will officially visit the Gators on June 6th.

When asked why UF made the cut, Carey replied, “The Gators have been expressing their want for me since the day Coach Billy Napier came to IMG and offered me last winter. Their developmental plan for me, their need and want for me to be a Gator, and how they value me as a person and player are all tied into it. I also had a series of great visits to UF! The whole staff always shows love too!”

FOUR-STAR INCLUDES FLORIDA IN FINAL FIVE

St. Augustine (Fla.) four-star receiver Somourian Wingo, the No. 157 rated prospect in the nation according to the On3 Industry Consensus, has announced a top five that includes Alabama, Florida, LSU, Miami, and South Carolina.

When asked why UF made his list, he replied: “Because of the relationship I’ve built with the staff. I know I will get developed playing under Coach G [Billy Gonzales], and it’s super close to home.”
