- Impact Analysis: Where Florida Football Signees Come From
A month ago, on February 13, Mansfield (Tx.) Lake Ridge five-star offensive tackle Felix Ojo cut his list down to eight finalists.
The list included Georgia, Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Ole Miss, and Texas.
When asked why UF made the cut, the 6-foot-7, 275-pounder responded, “Florida made the cut to be in my top eight because of the development aspect of the program. Every single offensive line coach on the staff has NFL experience and been where all of us recruits are trying to go.”
He currently has official visits set with the Buckeyes, Longhorns, Rebels, Sooners, and Wolverines.
Though UF doesn’t have an official visit scheduled, the Gators will have an opportunity to host him on campus for the first time ever during an unofficial this coming weekend.
When he arrives on campus on Saturday morning, he said he is looking for one thing in particular from UF.
“The Gators just need to show me the day in the life of a student athlete and just make me feel at home.”
While Florida doesn’t recruit the Lone Star State as hard as some of the other programs included among his finalists, they do, however, have one marquee player from the state – and you can bet he will be introduced to him early Saturday.
“Unfortunately, I haven’t had any contact with DJ [Lagway], but once I come up tomorrow, I look forward to seeing him and talking with him.”
Ojo is the No. 4 rated prospect in the nation according to the On3 Industry Composite.
